Each week, Gene and Rebecca Skinner leave the hustle and bustle of the big city Springfield, Missouri and head to foot of Mount Pleasant halfway between Cedar Springs and Dogwood Holler. There from a little cabin on the banks of the Gasconade River they fire up the 1955 Johnstone hetra-dyne nine megawatt kerosene powered transmitter and share two one-hour bluegrass radio shows, Great Stuff and Great Stuff Gospel. "The transmitter will also run on moonshine," Gene reports. "But it's mighty hard as a life long Baptist to buy that stuff with a clear conscience, so we stick to kerosene only".
